Cross City East Unit is an FDC adult male satellite of Cross City Correctional Institution. Its residents are in state custody. A move to the parent institution, the work camp, or another FDC prison remains custody even when East Unit is no longer the displayed location. Community release follows a different trail: an end to the incarceration episode and, when applicable, a new supervision record.

Release without supervision and release onto probation, parole, conditional release, or control release are not the same endpoint. Read both histories. A future date does not show that the person crossed the gate, and removal from a unit count does not explain the destination.

East Unit Release Evidence

FDC fields answer different questions. The location field identifies a placement at the time of update. “Current Release Date” is a changeable agency date. The incarceration history supplies dated entries into and out of custody. The supervision view describes a later state phase.

“Active suspense” does not mean ordinary community release. FDC uses it when direct supervision is temporarily unavailable because the person is in a jail or another facility while still monitored.

East Unit and Dixie County Jail share the NE 255th Street corridor. East Unit is at 568, while the county jail is at 386. Similar addresses conceal a sharp systems boundary. FDC tracks state custody. DCSO tracks county bookings.

East Unit Records Requests

If the public detail does not resolve the question, use the FDC public-records page. Request the specific incarceration, transfer, release, or supervision record. Give the DC number, full name, approximate date, and institution. A narrow request helps FDC identify the intended episode.

The unit cannot turn a state-prison discharge into a county release record. Likewise, the county clerk does not certify the exact prison gate time. Choose the custodian that created the needed record.

East Unit Release Limits

FDC warns that fast-changing public data may not reflect the latest status, location, or release date. A match should be read as an agency record, not as a promise about a pickup time. Detainers, gain-time changes, court amendments, and other lawful calculations can affect a date.

Use the historical out-custody entry for a past release. Use direct FDC confirmation when the event is current. If supervision follows, verify that separate status instead of calling the person fully discharged.

Note: A move within the Cross City complex is continued state custody even when the named unit changes.

East Unit Date Changes

A state release date can change through sentence calculations, gain-time action, a court amendment, detainer, or review. FDC's Current Release Date is useful but not a fixed appointment. The facility publishes no universal processing time. Confirm the event before travel.

Records may preserve old locations and classifications. Current status and dated history deserve more weight. Contact FDC if identity remains uncertain.

East Unit Custody Episodes

One person can have several custody episodes. A prior East Unit discharge does not prove present freedom. A later DCSO booking, new FDC sentence, or federal hold must be checked with its agency.

Build the timeline from dates. Start with incarceration history, add supervision, and verify later cases separately. This prevents an old release from being treated as current status.

East Unit FDC Follow-Up

The FDC release search accepts last name, first name, DC number, and an alias option. Its release file covers completed and scheduled releases and updates nightly. Search results should therefore be tied to the research date. A date that was future-facing when viewed may later change, while a Date Out-Custody in the incarceration history documents a completed episode more directly.

If East Unit disappears from the current-location field, search the current inmate population before concluding release. A new FDC institution supports transfer. If an out-custody row appears, check the supervision database next. These two follow-ups distinguish three common outcomes: movement within prison, release under community supervision, and release without a listed supervision phase.

FDC's Bureau of Admission and Release handles conflicting release information. Central classification addresses inmate population records. A written public-record request should state the DC number, East Unit, approximate dates, and the field or document needed. Specific requests are easier to match and less likely to mix multiple incarceration episodes.

East Unit's official capacity of 432 does not show current occupancy or release volume. No daily discharge count, release door, family waiting area, or processing schedule was found in the official facility source. Confirm current logistics by phone instead of filling those gaps with assumptions.

A request can ask for the incarceration history or transfer record for the named episode. State the exact public fact needed. Avoid asking East Unit to certify a Dixie County jail event because DCSO owns that record.

If supervision begins after prison, FDC Community Corrections owns that phase. The institution can route a local question but cannot replace the supervising office or statewide custodian.

Save the DC number, exact field label, and date viewed. A scheduled date may differ after review. For a current release, call the Bureau rather than relying on an old copy. For a past event, use the out-custody row and linked supervision entry. Keep the response with the same episode so a later search does not confuse a new sentence, transfer, or county booking with the East Unit discharge.
